Wednesday February 8th, 6pm at McLaughlin Branch, Oshawa Public Libraries will take a look at eReaders in the marketplace today and review your options for reading digitally at the library as we collaborate with experts from Staples Oshawa to give an overview of eBook technology and explain how it's being used to enrich the experience of reading. Oshawa Public Libraries invites aspiring young writers and visual artists to submit one original work to the 2012 Express Yourself Teen Art and Writing Contest. It's story time! Running every Saturday from January 14th to February 18th, 10:15am at Jess Hann Branch, we present a 45 minute weekend story time for 3-5 year olds featuring stories, songs, action rhymes and fingerplays. To register, call 905-579-6111 ext 5861.

The Sing Along with the Best of Markus CD has recently been released and Markus is in the house to sing all our favourites at Oshawa Public Libraries this January 5th. Sing-along fun for the whole family is coming to Northview Branch, the Legends Centre and McLaughlin Branch for one day, and you're invited to join in the celebration. We would like to advise our customers that all branches of the library system will be closed for the Christmas and Boxing Day holidays on Sunday, December 25th and Monday, December 26th. In addition, the Legends Centre will be closed on Christmas Eve, December 24th. The Library will resume normal hours on Tuesday, December 27th. We wish you and your family a happy holiday.
