Holds can be placed by phone (the Main Circulation Desk is (905) 579-6111 ext. 5200), by using the catalogue at any branch, or by asking one of the library staff to assist you. You can also place holds using our online catalogue here.
Once you get into the Catalogue page:
1. Search for an item on which you would like to place a Hold.
2. Click on the title of the book to view its catalogue information in full.
3. Click Request Item under the Holds column.
4. Enter your library card number and your password (you can acquire your password by calling the Main Circulation Desk at (905) 579-6111 ext. 5200, or by visiting the Circulation Desk at any of the three branches).
5. The page that follows a successful login gives you the opportunity to indicate at which branch location you would like to pick up the item.
Select the branch from the drop-down list and then click Place Hold.
6. You will be shown the details of your hold. Library staff will notify you when your item is available to be picked up at the branch you specified.
7. Click OK to continue searching the catalogue.
After your hold or reserve is placed, please wait for our call before you come to pick up the items.
