The Oshawa Public Library Board is established under the Public Libraries Act, R.S.O., 1990, Chapter P.44 as amended.

An applicant for the Library Board must be 18 years of age, a Canadian Citizen and an Oshawa resident. Trustees sit for a 4 year term concurrent with City Council and may be reappointed.
The Library Board meets on the third Thursday of the month (except July and August) at 6:30 pm. Meetings are open to the public.
